Northvolt is a Swedish battery developer and manufacturer, specialising in lithium-ion technology for electric vehicles.

We're seeking a dedicated Software Engineer to join us on our mission to create a greener future. This role is part of our Digitalization team and will be based in different locations (Stockholm, Västerås and Skellefteå).

As a key contributor to the development of the first set of large-scale European battery factories, you will have the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art technologies and make a significant impact on reducing the world's carbon footprint.

The Role
As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the software that powers our battery cell manufacturing sites.

Our AWS cloud ingests millions of data points every hour, and your task will be to develop innovative software products that utilize this manufacturing data to enable highly automated production and data-driven decisions.

Some examples of applications include product traceability, product quality management, near real-time monitoring of effectiveness, computer vision-powered defect detection and machine learning-driven prediction of battery performance.

You will also devote part of your time to fostering innovation, promoting collaboration among teams, and mentoring your colleagues.

The Team
We operate within self-organized product teams that manage their own product portfolios and deliverables. The team is responsible for discovering, designing, developing, deploying and maintaining their products.

Working alongside frontend and backend engineers, product managers, and UX researchers, your contributions will be vital to the success of Northvolt's battery cell manufacturing. You will have the opportunity to be part of creating the world's greenest battery production.

The Technology
Our system is built on microservices written in Go and running on AWS Lambda, with intercommunication via RPC calls. Data is stored in various databases such as DynamoDB, Amazon RDS and Timescale, and is served to clients using GraphQL, where it's presented in various React TypeScript applications.

We are committed to fostering a learning culture and do not require previous experience with our tech stack. Bring your current knowledge joined with a good portion of curiosity, and we will ensure you learn how to use your new favourite tools.

Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a goal-oriented, passionate, and inquisitive software engineer who is eager to embrace new challenges as we push the boundaries of the next generation of connected factories. We value innovative problem-solvers who are passionate about making a difference in the world.

This is an opportunity to have a significant impact on our success story and receive rapid feedback on your efforts.

We welcome applications from all qualified candidates, regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, or other characteristics.

Apply now with your CV in English or your LinkedIn profile.

We offer full-time employment with a fixed salary.

Starting date per agreement.

Join us on our mission towards a greener future!
